Position Overview
We are seeking experienced political researchers, regional analysts, or journalists to support a short-term project examining the evolving political and diplomatic dynamics between Thailand and Cambodia.
The assignment involves conducting targeted research, gathering open-source intelligence (OSINT), and producing a concise analytical report within a defined turnaround period (710 days).
This is a project-based, independent contractor role - ideal for professionals with deep understanding of Southeast Asian politics, cross-border relations, and regional security or economic cooperation.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyze political, diplomatic, and security developments shaping Thailand-Cambodia relations.
- Collect and verify information using OSINT, local and regional media monitoring, policy documents, and official statements.
- Map key actors, institutions, and narratives influencing bilateral cooperation and tensions.
- Prepare a clear, structured report with actionable insights, supported by verifiable sources and strong contextual framing.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in political analysis, journalism, international relations, or sociopolitical research.
- Strong familiarity with Thai or Cambodian politics is a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct OSINT research and validate diverse information sources.
- Excellent analytical writing skills in English (additional regional languages are a plus).
- Ability to work independently and meet a tight turnaround deadline.
Compensation & Work Model
- Freelance / project-based contract
- Compensation determined based on expertise and project scope
- Final deliverables due within 710 days of assignment start
