A Power BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. The role involves transforming raw data into actionable insights through interactive dashboards and reports, enabling data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Modeling: Design and build data models using Power BI Desktop, DAX, and Power Query.
- Report & Dashboard Development: Create visually appealing, interactive dashboards and reports tailored to business needs.
- Data Integration: Connect and integrate data from multiple sources (SQL databases, APIs, spreadsheets, data warehouses).
- Performance Optimization: Ensure reports and dashboards are optimized for speed and usability.
- Security & Governance: Implement row-level security, data governance, and compliance protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Testing & Documentation: Validate data accuracy, test DAX formulas, and document processes for reproducibility.
- Support & Training: Provide end-user support and training for Power BI solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, DAX, and Power Query (M language).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts.
- Experience with ETL processes and data integration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft BI Stack (SSAS, SSRS, SSIS) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 5 -8 years of experience in BI development (Power BI preferred).
- Power BI certification is an advantage.
