Powertrain Fuel-Lead Engineer

Scope of Role

powertrain, Fuel System

Area of Responsibility

  • Own technical delivery and design maturity for fuel commodities including tanks, pumps, lines, rails, filters, valves, and associated hardware
  • Define system and componentlevel requirements, interfaces, and specifications
  • Drive fuel system architecture, packaging, and vehicle integration activities
  • Ensure compliance with emission, safety, and regulatory standards (global and OEMspecific)
  • Lead design reviews, technical decisionmaking, and engineering change management
  • Own and execute DVP&R, validation, and durability testing for fuel systems
  • Lead DFMEA, risk assessments, and corrective actions for fuel system components
  • Coordinate crossfunctional teams (vehicle integration, NVH, thermal, emissions, manufacturing, purchasing)
  • Manage supplier technical development, reviews, and issue resolution
  • Support industrialization, manufacturing rampup, and launch readiness
  • Act as the primary technical interface to OEM customers for fuel system topics

Knowledge / Experience - 6 to 10 Years

Essential:

  • Preferred / Added Advantage
  • Experience with ICE, Hybrid, or FlexFuel powertrain applications
  • Exposure to fuel system validation testing and vehicle builds
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and service considerations
  • Technical & Domain Expertise
  • Fuel System Components:
  • Fuel tanks (plastic/metal), pumps, modules
  • Fuel lines, connectors, rails, filters, valves
  • Mountings, brackets, and protective components
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Emission and evaporative systems
  • Thermal, vibration, and durability requirements
  • Vehicle packaging and integration constraints
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations:
  • Fuel system safety and emission regulations
  • OEMspecific powertrain standards
  • Awareness of functional safety and validation methodologies
  • Automotive domain knowledge with working experience of Fuel System.
  • Timely S/T/P releases by ensuring right information of CAD data is produced with BOM, weight management.
  • Understanding of commodity release & change management
  • Understanding of Proto & Production BOM , build support,
  • Excellent CATIA V5 and CATIA V6
  • Exposure to PLM tools such as TeamCenter.

Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or related discipline.
