Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer – Backend to lead the architecture, design, and development of large-scale backend systems and data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in backend engineering, distributed systems, large-scale data processing, and technical leadership.

As a Principal Engineer, you will drive technical strategy, define architectural direction, mentor engineering teams, and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to build scalable, high-performance technology solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 13+ years of experience in Backend Development, Data Engineering, or related software engineering roles.
• Strong expertise in designing and building large-scale backend systems.
• Extensive experience working with SQL and large-scale data systems.
• Strong programming experience in one or more backend technologies such as:
• Python
• Java
• Scala
• Similar backend programming languages
• Experience designing and developing distributed systems and highly available applications.
• Proven experience leading architecture and technical direction for large engineering teams.
• Strong background in mentoring and guiding senior engineers and technical teams.
• Experience building scalable data pipelines, processing frameworks, or backend platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in product-based technology companies or large-scale technology platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, microservices architecture, APIs, and system scalability.
• Experience working with modern data technologies and engineering frameworks.
