Our client is a food ingredient manufacturer specializing in the development and production of savory flavour ingredients used in the global food industry. The company supplies flavour solutions that enhance the taste of products such as soups, sauces, snacks, meat products, and ready meals for both local and international food manufacturers.

Job purpose

The Process Technologist is responsible for validating and optimizing production processes within the existing facility. This role includes supporting troubleshooting activities and conducting performance and data analysis to improve operational efficiency. In addition, the position focuses on identifying opportunities to enhance performance and reduce costs, while contributing to the planning and design of new production expansions or facilities.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical understanding of food processing operations and manufacturing plant design.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement cost-saving initiatives, such as reducing scrap, increasing output, simplifying processes and procedures, developing action plans, and sharing best practices.
  • Monitor internal production processes and stay updated on technological advancements to support continuous process optimization.
  • Improve and refine operational processes and P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
  • Provide effective troubleshooting and resolve production bottlenecks, while developing tools and guidelines to support production teams in their operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality Assurance (QA), R&D, and Engineering teams.
  • Lead teams through clear communication, focusing on achieving results and driving continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the design of new production facilities while supporting improvements to the existing plant.
  • Assist in process design, pilot trials, and product commercialization projects.
  • Promote and support a safety-first culture by identifying, reporting, preventing, and addressing potential hazards.
  • Prepare reports to monitor operational performance and track improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and document trial reports.
  • Lead and coordinate continuous improvement projects from identification through implementation.

Skills and knowledge requirement

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a process technologist in a chemical and/or comparable food-related process environment.
  • Good command of English.
  • Excellent communication and coordination, problem solving, dealing with urgency, self-motivated, fast-learning, planning and organizational skills.
