Job Description

Position: Procurement Manager (Construction)

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and source new suppliers and contractors to enhance the organization's procurement capabilities and vendor options.
  • Evaluate and analyze potential suppliers and contractors in terms of quality, pricing, reliability, and performance.
  • Conduct price negotiations, purchasing and contracting terms, and agreement conditions to achieve the best value for the organization.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal departments to ensure that purchasing activities align with specific requirements and project needs.
  • Verify and monitor the accuracy of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), materials, equipment specifications, and related procurement details.
  • Review and ensure the completeness and correctness of purchase and work order documents before submission for approval.
  • Examine and validate procurement and contracting agreements, ensuring all terms and conditions comply with company policies and standards.
  • Plan and manage procurement team activities to ensure efficient purchasing processes and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Analyze procurement and contracting data, and prepare reports to propose strategic plans and annual procurement improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise, lead, and develop the procurement team to ensure departmental and organizational goals are achieved effectively.

Qualifications / Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and contracting in the engineering field, preferably in construction and contractor management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in team management or supervisory roles.
  • Hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or related ERP systems.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Pivot Table, V-Lookup).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data effectively.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proactive and professional approach.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, and verify quantities in BOQs accurately.
