Role Overview
This role is responsible for overseeing the company's procurement operations to ensure cost-effective, timely, and high-quality sourcing of products and services. The position leads the development and execution of purchasing strategies, manages vendor relationships, and monitors import operations to support overall business objectives. It involves budgeting, price forecasting, contract negotiation, and cost-reduction initiatives. Additionally, the role supervises and develops the procurement team while establishing KPIs to improve performance, enhance efficiency, and drive continuous improvement across the procurement function.
Responsibility
- Lead the development and execution of effective purchasing strategies and support all activities to achieve business objectives through effective procurement management.
- Source alternative vendors/products with competitive prices, while maintaining better or comparable quality and services.
- Manage and make forecast purchasing pricing and amount, budget control and analysis.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts with selected vendors. Build strong relationships with them and evaluate their performance to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
- Set cost reduction target and action plan and follow up the result in order to achieve the target.
- Verify and authorize procurement orders. Ensure products/services to be ordered/received are in accordance with the user requirements and within a reasonable budget.
- Handle and Monitor import operation process, customs clearance, shipment status, contact shipping and forwarder company and follow up outstanding orders ,claim process and documentation
- Coach and monitor the procurement team to align with policy, process and procedure of the organization. Effective management of the procurement team.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure performance, identify areas for improvement and provide suggestions to other departments to achieve cost savings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in business administration, supply chain, economics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of Purchasing experience within the Manufacturing Business
- Good command Spoken and written English, if can use Chinese language to communicate will be an advantage
- Having excellent analytical , strategic thinking skills and problem solving skill
- Strong negotiation skills and continuously looking for commercial opportunities.
- Expertise in Cost-Saving Strategies and Initiative.
- Able to handle multitasks
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as SAP and advanced Microsoft Office
