Role Overview
As a payments company Statrys is building a new product for an existing, well-defined set of buyers in the market. The Product Manager will own discovery, prioritization, and delivery of the first version of the product, with a strong emphasis on user satisfaction and market fit using the Kano Model. This role is ideal for a highly market-focused PM with SaaS experience who is comfortable working closely with founders and technical teams in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end product discovery for existing buyer segments: understand their jobs-to-be-done, pain points, and current alternatives.
- Design, run, and analyze Kano Model surveys to classify features into must-haves, performance features, and delighters, and translate insights into a clear product roadmap.
- Prioritize features with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, retention, and competitive differentiation, balancing Kano outcomes with business goals and technical constraints.
- Collaborate closely with design and engineering to define problem statements, write clear product requirements, and iterate quickly on prototypes and MVP features.
- Partner with founders, sales, and marketing to refine positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans for the target buyer segments.
- Set up feedback loops (user interviews, surveys, in-product feedback, and usage analytics) to continuously measure satisfaction and iterate on the product.
- Define and track early product KPIs (e.g., activation, CSAT, NPS, qualitative Kano signals) to guide roadmap decisions.
- Benchmark competitors and adjacent solutions to identify gaps, delighter opportunities, and evolving customer expectations.
- Communicate priorities, trade-offs, and timelines clearly to stakeholders, including the CEO and business leaders.
Required Experience and Skills
- 3+ years of Product Management experience, with at least 2 years in SaaS products.
- Demonstrated experience in highly market-focused or customer-led companies (e.g., B2B SaaS, product-led growth, or strong customer success-driven environments).
- Hands-on experience applying the Kano Model in real products: designing Kano surveys, interpreting results, and using them for roadmap prioritization.
- Strong user research skills: running interviews, analyzing qualitative feedback, and synthesizing insights into clear product decisions.
- Comfort working with product analytics and customer feedback tools to understand behavior, satisfaction, and opportunities.
- Ability to write clear PRDs or spec documents and collaborate effectively with engineering and design.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex insights into simple narratives for business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and rapid experimentation in early-stage environments.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience as a highly technical PM with previous reporting line directly to a CEO or business function (e.g., revenue, growth, operations) in a startup or scale-up.
- Experience with additional prioritization frameworks (e.g., RICE, Value vs Effort, Opportunity Scoring) and knowing when to use each.
- Background in building or improving products that were underperforming on user satisfaction, and turning them around using structured frameworks such as Kano.
- Familiarity with tools commonly used in SaaS product development (e.g., Jira, Linear, Figma, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Productboard, or similar).
What Success Looks Like
- Within the first 36 months, the PM has:
- Run structured discovery with existing buyer segments and mapped their core needs.
- Delivered a Kano-informed MVP roadmap focused on must-have and performance features for the target buyers.
- Shipped early versions of the product and established baseline satisfaction metrics.
- Demonstrated measurable improvements in user satisfaction and product-market signal quality through iterative releases.
