The Product Manager is responsible for proposing, implementing, and monitoring marketing plans to support the successful development and performance of Trouw Nutrition product portfolio as well as leading a team of Program Managers. This role plays a key part in driving sales, profitability, and market competitiveness through innovation, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess new business opportunities, including product launches, re-launches, packaging changes, and range extensions.
- Provide product expertise to customers, and the commercial team, owning key product-specific customer projects.
- Define and develop the key value propositions, and develop a training plan for sales execution.
- Develop and execute product marketing plans that align with market opportunities and business objectives.
- Own the portfolio pipeline, including new product pipeline, and discontinuation plans for underperforming or outdated products.
- Define commercial specifications for new products and product improvements.
- Monitor and evaluate product portfolio performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage budget and control expenditures related to new product development and promotional activities.
- Lead the creation and regular updates of commercial and technical marketing materials (e.g., brochures, presentations, labels, certificates).
- Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to support the execution of marketing and product plans.
- Collaborate with the quality department to safeguard product quality and manage customer feedback and complaints.
- Set priorities for the development and formulation of new products or applications of existing ones.
- Provide sales and profit forecasts for upcoming product initiatives.
- Oversee production and distribution logistics for promotional materials and activities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Animal Science, Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Proven experience in product and program management, preferably within the feed, agriculture, or animal nutrition industry
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate cross-functionally
- Proficient in MS Office and marketing tools/software
