Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence within a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, optimizing resources, improving productivity, ensuring product quality, and developing high-performing teams.
This role requires a strong leader with expertise in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, production planning, quality systems, and workforce management.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations Management
- Lead and manage day-to-day production activities to ensure operational targets are achieved.
- Oversee manpower, machinery, materials, and production resources to maximize efficiency and output.
- Ensure production schedules are executed on time while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address variances.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to increase productivity, reduce waste, and optimize labor utilization.
- Utilize tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), workflow optimization, and process standardization to improve operational performance.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through efficiency improvements and waste elimination.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure manufacturing processes consistently meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to investigate and resolve production-related quality issues.
- Support audits, compliance programs, and quality management system requirements.
- Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the production organization.
Equipment & Technical Support
- Work closely with Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and operational readiness.
- Support preventive maintenance programs and equipment improvement initiatives.
- Ensure production equipment is operating efficiently to meet business objectives.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and operators.
- Establish performance expectations and monitor team effectiveness.
- Identify training needs and ensure employees are adequately trained and qualified for their roles.
- Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative working environment.
Health, Safety & Workplace Management
- Promote workplace safety and environmental compliance across all production activities.
- Lead 5S and workplace organization initiatives to maintain an efficient and safe manufacturing environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of manufacturing or production management experience within a structured manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing production teams and achieving operational targets.
- Experience in, healthcare manufacturing, electronics, automotive, or other regulated industries is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of production planning, process optimization, and manufacturing best practices.
