The Production Team Lead - Skincare & Cosmetics role plays a key part in overseeing daily manufacturing activities and ensuring production, quality, safety, and delivery objectives are achieved. The position combines production supervision, team leadership, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement within a batch manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production activities to ensure output targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved
- Monitor manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, Good Manufacturing Practice, and safety requirements
- Coordinate workforce allocation, production planning, and machine utilisation to maximise productivity
- Lead and motivate production operators to achieve operational excellence and team performance goals
- Ensure production batches are completed accurately and in accordance with approved specifications
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to support smooth operations
- Investigate production issues, deviations, and downtime and implement effective corrective actions
- Monitor and report key manufacturing performance indicators, including productivity, yield, waste, and efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and cost-reduction projects
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Cosmetic Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a production supervisor or manufacturing supervisor role
- Previous experience in personal care, cosmetics, skincare, fragrance and flavour, beauty products, or fast-moving consumer goods manufacturing is highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice, ISO standards, production processes, and quality management systems
- Experience with batch manufacturing, filling, blending, mixing, compounding, or packaging operations
- Proven people management experience, including leading teams of operators and production staff
- Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics, and production reporting tools
- Good command of English and strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
