About The Role
We are looking for a candidate with strong face to face Marketing and Business Development skills. This role will be responsible for managing the relationship with intermediaries and business partners in the area of underwriting service delivery, market movements, and A&H system & administrative coordination.
The ideal incumbent needs to evaluate the risk for new business & renewals in accordance with standards, to ensure profitable growth and keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to be able to operate effectively and appropriately.
- Responsible for the top line budget for group. Go out into the market and meet and manage brokers /agents relationship independently. Manage the sales and pipelines. Liaison and make joint calls with the CBE and Agency heads internally
- Discuss long term strategies , business numbers, risk appetite and provide training
- Provides A&H UW support to business partners by leveraging data, segmentation, and insights through researching, troubleshooting problems, reviewing applications, and working with customers to gather additional information where needed.
- Analyzes new business applications to determine risk factors and pricing insurance policies accordingly. Explains complex insurance policies to clients and answering questions they may have about their coverage. Providing recommendations regarding coverage amounts, policy features, and costs to meet the client's needs.
- Communication Point of contact for business partners and other departments by understanding and identifying problems, researching answers, and guiding them through corrective steps.
- Have some underwriting authority, manage, train and develop the other production underwriter. Participating in underwriting meetings to discuss coverage options with other members of the underwriting team
- Market intelligence and competition. Maintaining current knowledge of industry regulations and standards. Researching claims history to determine whether claims were filed in the past or if there are any indications of fraudulent activity
- Improves business efficiency, maintains business operating excellence and admin performance by writing and maintaining business flows & documentation. Preparing reports detailing potential risks associated with proposed business ventures or existing operations. Ensuring that all documentation required by insurance regulators is complete and accurate.
- Accommodates on A&H solutions by recommending devices and techniques for A&H externalization systems and online solutions. Improves system performance by identifying problems and recommending changes.
Education: a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
