Job Description

Your Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and subcontract manufacturers, ensuring alignment across engineering, quality, operations, and supply chain objectives.
  • Drive supplier performance focusing on delivery, quality, responsiveness, and process control.
  • Monitor and manage production schedules, work-in-progress (WIP), manufacturing readiness, and throughput to support effective scaling of production.
  • Facilitate the ramp-up of manufacturing from prototype to volume production while coordinating the resolution of production issues and yield excursions.
  • Support critical photonics manufacturing processes including optical alignment, fiber attachment, laser module assembly, active alignment, optical testing, and cleanroom operations.
  • Lead initiatives for containment and corrective actions related to quality issues and assist with root cause investigations.
  • Oversee the implementation of engineering changes and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring seamless manufacturing transitions and process validations.
  • Identify supply chain risks and work collaboratively on recovery, contingency, and inventory management plans.
  • Provide regular reports on production status, quality metrics, yield, capacity, and supplier performance.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Photonics, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in photonics, optics, semiconductor, precision manufacturing, or electronics manufacturing.
  • Proven experience working with contract manufacturers (CM), joint development manufacturers (JDM), or original design manufacturers (ODM).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing scale-up, process control, and supplier management.
  • Excellent technical problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Preferred: Experience in InP photonics, laser packaging, fiber optics, optical transceivers, wafer-level photonics, or semiconductor packaging is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom manufacturing environments and methodologies such as SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 8D/RCCA, and ISO 9001.
