About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major construction project based in Chonburi, Thailand.
The successful candidate will have 15–25 years of experience in project and construction management, with a strong track record of delivering complex, large-scale projects. Experience in mission critical environments, particularly data centres, is highly advantageous.
This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for overall project delivery, including programme, cost, quality, safety, risk, commercial performance, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the project from mobilisation through to successful completion and handover.
- Establish and maintain project objectives, delivery strategies, programmes, and performance targets.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams across engineering, construction, commercial, planning, procurement, quality, and HSE functions.
- Oversee project budgets, cost control, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Ensure project delivery remains aligned with approved schedules, budgets, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Develop and monitor the overall master programme, identifying critical activities, risks, and potential delays.
- Lead project risk management and develop mitigation and recovery strategies where required.
- Manage key client, consultant, contractor, supplier, and government relationships.
- Provide regular project performance reports and updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, contract administration, and commercial performance.
- Ensure appropriate quality management systems and construction standards are maintained throughout the project.
- Champion health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance across the project.
- Coordinate design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Review and manage project variations, claims, extensions of time, and other contractual matters.
- Drive effective communication and collaboration across all project disciplines.
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, efficiency, cost, quality, and overall project performance.
- Ensure successful project close-out, commissioning, documentation, and client handover.
Requirements
- 15–25 years of experience in project management and construction management.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading large-scale and complex construction projects.
- Mission critical project experience, particularly data centre projects, will be a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls, commercial management, procurement, and contract administration.
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and major contractors.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing significant project budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
- Good command of written and spoken English is essential.
- Willingness to be site-based in Chonburi, Thailand.
