We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Project Engineering professional to lead automation and process improvement projects across manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for evaluating technical solutions, managing automation projects from concept to commissioning, and driving operational efficiency through advanced control systems and digital integration.
The ideal candidate possesses strong project management capabilities, technical expertise in PLC/SCADA systems, and experience integrating shop-floor automation with enterprise-level systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and identify automation and process improvement opportunities, including technical feasibility, financial justification, and implementation strategy.
- Lead end-to-end project execution for automation initiatives, including equipment design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, start-up, and production ramp-up.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement and cross-functional stakeholders to develop technical specifications, Terms of Reference (TOR), and align supplier understanding and expectations.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth implementation and compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare, maintain, and update all engineering and project documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and change management procedures.
- Monitor and control project performance indicators covering Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and operational effectiveness.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing technical consultation, troubleshooting support, and automation expertise to manufacturing and support functions.
- Conduct user and maintenance training for newly installed equipment and automation systems to ensure operational readiness and sustainability.
- Ensure all automation systems comply with safety regulations, engineering standards, and company operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automation engineering within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability in planning, execution, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting, particularly with Siemens and Allan Bradley.
- Experience in SCADA systems and industrial automation architecture.
- Familiar with Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Internet of Things (IoT) and integration between SCADA and enterprise-level applications.
- Competent in electrical drawing interpretation, wiring design, and control panel systems.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and with external suppliers.
- Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or high-speed production environments will be an advantage.
