Job Description: Project Planner & Dispatcher Engineer
(Contract Management & M&E Engineering Focus)
Department: Project Management / Planning Reports to: Head of Project & Planning / Operations Director Role Purpose: To strategically plan and allocate engineering resources, oversee full contract compliance for all clients, monitor project profitability (P&L), and serve as the central technical coordinator between clients and field operations, utilizing M&E engineering expertise.
1. Core Missions
Technical Planning & Dispatching: Strategically assign tasks by leveraging M&E engineering knowledge to match technician skills (e.g., Low Voltage systems, HVAC, Plumbing) with specific job requirements.
Contract & SLA Control: Administer contract terms for clients in the BFSI, F&B, and Retail sectors, ensuring all work meets Service Level Agreements (SLA) and safety standards.
Financial Stewardship (P&L): Monitor and control operational costs (labor, M&E spare parts, travel expenses) to maintain and optimize project profit margins.
Engineering Communication: Act as the primary technical interface between clients and the operations team to ensure accurate information flow and expectations management.
2. Key Responsibilities
Contract & Project P&L Monitoring:
Technical Monitoring: Oversee all M&E maintenance tasks within the contract, ensuring both Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) are executed according to technical specifications.
Project P&L Oversight: Track real-time on-site costs against contract value, analyze cost variances, and report the financial health (Profit/Loss) of each project to management.
M&E Out-of-Scope Management: Analyze field data to distinguish between In-Scope and Out-of-Scope tasks; promptly coordinate with the Business Development (BD) team to issue quotations for additional engineering works.
Technical Dispatching & Coordination:
Dispatcher Engineer: Receive incidents and select the most appropriate teams (In-house/Outsource) based on the M&E Skill Matrix to ensure high-quality and timely job completion.
Onboarding & Compliance: Manage subcontractor onboarding, verifying engineering certifications (licenses) and the readiness of M&E specialized tools before project commencement.
Customer Liaison: Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for clients regarding scheduling, providing accurate technical status updates and professional consultations.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Work Order Integrity: Monitor and expedite the closure of work orders in the system, tracking SLA status in real-time to prevent backlog.
M&E Resource Summary: Prepare weekly reports on spare part usage and engineering resource allocation to evaluate operational efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities.
3. Key Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, M&E, or related fields).
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Planning, Project Coordination, or as a Site Engineer. (Experience in Facility Management for retail or banking sectors is highly preferred).
Technical Competency: Strong understanding of M&E systems (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC) to accurately assess job complexity and resource requirements.
Analytical Skill: Proficient in project cost analysis (P&L), with the ability to perform basic quantity take-offs and material estimations.
Communication: Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills; able to translate complex technical jargon into clear, actionable information for non-technical stakeholders.
Tools: Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and experience with FSM or ERP systems is an advantage.
