PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that assigned staffs have reported to work; document any late or absent employees.
  • Coordinate breaks for assigned staff.
  • Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to assigned staff and review priorities.
  • Assign designated keys and beepers to assigned staff. Maintain accurate record of such and ensure security of keys.
  • Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift. Identify situations which compromise the department's standards and delegate these tasks.
  • Check supply levels in storage closets. Complete requisition for additional supplies needed and submit to manager.
  • Inspect cleanliness and organization of storage areas. Assign designated personnel to rectify any deficiencies.
  • Check Lobby Attendant's carts for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness and mechanical problems. Instruct designated personnel to correct deficiencies.
  • Inspect public areas/bathrooms, restaurants, fitness center, pool area, offices and service areas after being cleaned by Lobby Attendants, using designated checklists. Ensure that cleanliness and condition of each area meets designated standards. Directly contact respective personnel and relay any deficiencies to be corrected.
  • Assist Lobby Attendants with their job functions where needed to ensure optimum cleanliness and service standards for guests.
  • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Housekeeping Clerk. Contact Engineering directly for urgent repairs.
  • Accommodate guest requests for Housekeeping items or additional supplies expediently and courteously. Follow up on delivery and return of all such items.
  • Monitor and handle guest complaints by following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct training of staff as assigned.
  • Provide feedback on staff performance to manager. Report disciplinary problems to manager and participate in the counseling of employees.
  • Respond to all pages by beeper promptly.
  • Document pertinent information in department log book.
  • Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving. Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with manager and/or on-coming supervisor.
  • Successful completion of the training/certification process.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Assist in other areas of Housekeeping as assigned.
  • Attend designated meetings.
  • Stock Housekeeping supplies.

RELATIONSHIP

Internal: Housekeeping staff, Laundry/Dry Cleaning staff, Engineering, Front Desk staff, Security department.

External: Hotel guests/visitors.

Others

  • Continuous learning through own IDP.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • At least High Vocational diploma in any relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years in Housekeeping/ Janitorial experience
  • Knowledgeable in Housekeeping operation and cleaning methods
  • Ability to communicate basic English
  • Detail-oriented and posses pleasant personality with good communication and interpersonal skills
