Are you the ONE we're looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Public Relations Associate who will be responsible for planning and executing client communications strategies, across Mutant's PR, Social Media, Content, and Branding teams.

You will support the public relations team in day-to-day media relations, media monitoring, as well as pitching and reporting. You will be provided with opportunities to support business development through research and launch.

Someone who is confident speaking in front of others and brings along an awesome personality who thrives working in a fast-paced environment with a growing team.

What you'll be doing:

  • You'll be liaising on a daily basis with clients and the media, often via telephone and email.
  • You're expected to develop the skills to effectively counsel both clients and media
  • You're able to write compelling articles, blogs, and other materials as required
  • You'll be monitoring the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, social media sites, and blogs, for opportunities for clients.
  • You'll need to prepare regular client reports and actively participate in client meetings, providing valuable insights and expertise
  • Researching, writing, and distributing press releases and content to targeted media is your strong suit.
  • You'll support promoting news stories and features to the media.
  • You'll be collating, analysing, and evaluating media coverage.
  • You'll support event management (not limited to press conferences, promotional events, Studio coordination, and/ or site recce) and Social media management.
  • You have or are willing to foster established professional relationships, and new relationships with clients, colleagues, and the media.
  • You'll support on new business proposal decks (research, distilling insights into key take ways, campaign ideation, delivering tactical solutions)

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • You have 1-2 years of experience in PR (preferably in an agency environment)
  • Candidates with at least 3+ years of experience will be considered for the Senior Associate role
  • You're passionate about a career in Public Relations
  • You understand the fast-paced, high-intensity nature of agency life and is ready to take on its challenges
  • You're interested in working with clients from the consumer, technology, and startups industries
  • You have good interpersonal skills and can confidently articulate your thoughts in front of clients and/or the media
  • You have an excellent command of the English language and are an exceptional writer
  • You're meticulous and able to perform under pressure
  • You're proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership over your work.
  • You bring resilience and grit to stay focused, adaptable, and driven
