Job Description

QHSE Manager

The QHSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the organization's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management systems. This role ensures compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies while driving a culture of operational excellence, safety, and sustainability across all functions and project sites.

Key Responsibilities;

1. QHSE Management System

  • Develop, implement, and maintain integrated QHSE management systems in line with ISO 9001 and relevant standards.
  • Establish QHSE policies, objectives, procedures, and frameworks aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Ensure effective document control and records management for all QHSE-related documentation.

2. Quality Management

  • Promote a strong quality culture and customer-focused mindset throughout the organization.
  • Monitor and analyze quality KPIs, audit findings, and customer feedback.
  • Lead internal and external audits and coordinate management review processes.

3. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety, occupational health, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a zero-incident culture and environmental responsibility.
  • Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and implement mitigation measures.
  • Lead incident/accident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.

4. Training & Awareness

  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs and safety awareness initiatives.
  • Plan and conduct emergency preparedness and response drills.

5. Inspection, Audit & Compliance

  • Conduct workplace inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance and continual improvement.
  • Liaise with certification bodies, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

6. Advisory & Support

  • Provide technical guidance and HSE recommendations to management and project teams.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and business continuity planning.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in ISO 9001 implementation and organizational management.
  • Prior experience in power plant, utilities, energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure industries is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of QHSE systems, ISO standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience or familiarity with operations and maintenance (O&M) systems is an advantage, including: Gas turbine / gas engine, Generators, HRSG, boilers, Gas compressors, chillers, Power distribution systems and substations, Water quality management.
