JOB OVERVIEW

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, evaluates, and works to resolve manufacturing issues in the daily production processes, provides some leadership in the optimization and troubleshooting of existing processes. Participates in engineering activities leading towards the design and implementation of process improvements and the technical transfer of new products from research and development to product commercialization.In a quality capacity, the engineer will develop implement and maintain our Global Quality Assurance systems to ensure finished product quality requirements are met or exceeded.

Incumbent will deploy and monitor global quality metrics, ensure alignment, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting. Incumbent will also conduct studies and provide analysis reports to assist management in making sound business decisions to address identified and future issues. Responsibilities include leading special projects and supporting daily activities in which Global Engineering and Quality teams will analyze business processes and recommend ways to improve them

Roles & Responsibilities

• Improve processes that drive customer satisfaction through quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency.
• Provide technical knowledge to continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing quality, productivity and yields.
• Assist in the identification of new materials, methods, and tools in order to improve current processes and/or equipment.
• Develop expertise in manufacturing processes to characterize, stabilize, and optimize key process parameters related to yield and product quality and performance.
• Assist in the maintenance and support of all Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tools.
• Support Manufacturing in efforts to troubleshoot the manufacturing processes on a daily basis.
• Develop, maintain, and update manufacturing documentation with input from appropriate functions.
• Assist Manufacturing in the training of operators, technicians, and supervisors as needed.
• Work to improve volume process capabilities in anticipation of new product requirements.
• Provide process performance input during the specification of new capital equipment.
• Provide input as to the process control requirements for new capital equipment.
• Provide technical support during the commissioning and debugging of new equipment.
• Create and routinely present reports and data to Senior Management based on work and findings
• Adheres to safety guidelines including improvements
• Works towards improvements for process efficiencies
• Conduct data analysis and trend reporting. Interpret various requests for analysis reports, identify appropriate data from system and develop reports.
• Optimize reporting and summarize data. Draw statistical conclusions, analyze distributions, test hypotheses, perform capability studies, validate measurement systems and design and execute experiments. Maintain dashboards.
• Leverage Lean Six Sigma tools to challenge the status quo within our suppliers. Serve as a change agent and ambassador on the foundations of quality, its leadership principles and proven techniques.
• Work with engineering, R&D, and suppliers to identify root causes and recommend/implement solutions for customer returns or field failures.
• Coordinate the standardization and calibration of quality measurement gauges at supplier locations.
• Design and implement acceptance sampling procedures for acceptance control to achieve better quality at lower cost, improved control, and increased productivity. Partner with suppliers to use in an evolutionary manner to progress from sampling inspection toward a reliance upon process control and audits.
• Develop and maintain process audit, quality audit, deviation, and corrective action systems.
• Assist management in other related projects and duties as assigned/requested.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Ability to communicate fluently in Thai and English, both written and verbal
• Ability to act independently
• Ability to make decisions independently
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Good knowledge of statistical tools.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, etc.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing environments and priorities and function without rigid organizational boundaries.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BS in Engineering or relevant experience.
• 3-5 years experience of Process Engineering or Quality Assurance demonstrating skills in the above duties.
• Previous experience with a manufacturing environment
• Project management experience preferred
• Six Sigma certification preferred
