 Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on QC Inspector to be based in Rayong or Chonburi, Thailand, serving as our quality representative at supplier factories across Southeast Asia. You will travel extensively—both domestically within Thailand and internationally to Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan—to conduct in-process and pre-shipment inspections, audit production lines, and ensure finished goods meet our engineering specifications before shipment. This role requires a decisive individual who can enforce quality standards on the ground and act as the first line of defense against defective products entering our supply chain.

Salary Range (monthly, pre-tax): ฿49,000 – ฿65,000 /month, depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. On-Site Factory Inspections (Primary Duty)

  • Travel to supplier manufacturing facilities across Thailand (Rayong, Chonburi, and other provinces) and internationally to Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan to perform Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI) and In-Process Inspections (IPI).
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, functional, and packaging inspections using  (AQL) sampling plans.
  • Verify that production materials, components, and workmanship align with approved first-article samples and engineering drawings.

2. Shipment Release & Containment

  • Make pass/fail decisions on-site—approve shipments that meet standards, and immediately quarantine and block shipments when defect levels exceed AQL limits.
  • Coordinate with the supplier to segregate acceptable and defective stock to prevent delivery delays.
  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) on the spot and ensure clear identification of rework or rejected materials.

3. Supplier Process Auditing

  • Conduct routine factory process audits to evaluate the supplier's quality management system, production controls, and worker competencies.
  • Review supplier in-house test records, equipment calibration logs, and material traceability documentation.
  • Identify process bottlenecks or high-risk steps in production that could lead to recurring defects.

4. Corrective Action & Continuous Improvement

  • Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) for major and critical defects.
  • Follow up on CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) during subsequent visits—verify that root-cause fixes are implemented and effective, not just one-time rework.
  • Maintain a vendor scorecard and report on the top defective item categories to the sourcing team.

5. Communication & Reporting

  • Submit detailed, photo-supported inspection reports (using company templates or QC apps) within 24 hours of each factory visit.
  • Provide real-time alerts to management regarding any critical quality risks, production delays, or ethical compliance concerns observed at the factory.

 Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field. Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • More than 5 years of experience in quality control, with at least 2 years in a supplier-facing or field inspection role.
  • Experience inspecting products in plastic injection molding, metal stamping, electronics assembly is mandatory.
  • Prior experience traveling to factories in multiple Southeast Asian countries is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience using precision measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and pin gauges.
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as 8D Reports, Fishbone Diagrams, and Pareto Analysis.
  • Basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949 (for automotive) quality management system requirements.

Soft Skills & Mindset:

  • Assertiveness & Integrity: You must have the confidence to reject substandard goods face-to-face with factory management, even when under pressure to release shipments.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to quickly identify root causes by observing a production line rather than just documenting symptoms.
  • Excellent Communication: Proficiency in writing clear, factual reports and communicating issues effectively with both suppliers and internal teams.
  • Self-Motivation & Adaptability: Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and able to adapt to different factory cultures, time zones, and travel conditions across Southeast Asia.

Language & Local Knowledge:

  • English: Professional working proficiency (written and spoken) – required for reporting communicating with suppliers across the region.
  • Thai: Conversational or business level is highly preferred for daily work in Thailand.
  • Bahasa Indonesia/Malay: A strong plus for factory visits in Indonesia and Malaysia.
  • Familiarity with industrial zones in Thailand
