Location: RD Center, Bangpoo, Samutprakarn

Working Hours: 7:40 - 17:25 (Mon - Fri)

Department: R&D - CDBU

Job Summary:

  • EMC Design Engineer responsible for ensuring Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) compliance for high-efficiency AC/DC, DC/DC power converters used in AI datacenter. The candidate will lead EMC design, simulation, and troubleshooting efforts, working closely with power electronics designers to develop world-class energy solutions for global customers.

Responsibilities:

  • EMC Design & Analysis: Lead the design of EMI filters and provide critical feedback on PCB layout to minimize conducted and radiated emissions. Perform impedance analysis and component selection (chokes, Y-capacitors, X-capacitors).
  • Simulation: Develop and execute electromagnetic or circuit simulations to predict EMI performance and optimize mechanical/electrical grounding and shielding strategies, also validate correlate simulation results.
  • Troubleshooting: Perform root cause analysis on EMC failures during the prototype phase. Use near-field probes, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes to identify noise sources and propose corrective actions.
  • Compliance Testing: Oversee pre-compliance and final compliance testing (Conducted Emission, Radiated Emission, ESD, Surge) according to international standards (CISPR, IEC, FCC).
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with power electronics engineers & mechanical engineers on implementation to ensure design success until reliable manufacturing is achieved.

Qualifications:

  • Master Degree or PhD in power electronics or Electromagnetics with good circuit analysis skill, or EMC lab experienced is a plus.

Skills:

  • Core Theory: Basic understanding on DM/CM noise, Signal Integrity (SI), and Power Integrity (PI). Knowledge of coupling mechanisms (inductive, capacitive, common-impedance), basic filter design
  • Circuit Skills: Ability to analyze basic switching power supply topologies (PFC, DC-DC) and understand their noise characteristics (dv/dt, di/dt).
  • Tools: Basic knowledge on LISN, Proficiency with EMC test equipment (EMI Receiver, LISN, Spectrum Analyzer) and simulation software is a plus
  • Soft Skills
  • o Verbal and written communications skills in English.
  • o Professional working attitude, high responsibility, and good teamwork.
  • o Eager to learn new things & technology.
