Job Summary
As part of the newly formed APAC 1UL R&D organisation, we are looking for a Technical Supervisor to join our 1UL R&D team based in Minburi, Thailanda key hub for R&D and manufacturing in the region. This role will support the development and deployment of unmissable, superior products across iconic brands across Myanmar and Australia such as Tresemme, Dove, Vaseline, Knorr etc. with a focus on formulation assessment, product development, packaging support, and specification management in alignment with Unilever's high standards for compliance, quality, and sustainability.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytically strong, and comfortable working in both lab and cross-functional environments. You will play a key role in delivering innovation to market at speed and with excellencesupporting formulation and packaging validation, SAP PLM data creation, and digital adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct formulation assessments to ensure product quality, consumer satisfaction, and compliance with Unilever's internal and external standards.
- Develop and optimize formulations based on project briefs, market needs, consumer insights, and customer feedback in coordination with the TPLs.
- Provide hands-on support for packaging developmentincluding testing, compatibility, and validation of packaging materials.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of technical product specifications using the SAP PLM digital tool, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to land E2E innovation, including preparing and delivering manufacturing briefs to factory teams to support seamless product deployment.
- Ensure all lab and development activities are conducted in compliance with safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and sustainability commitments.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of lab work, technical findings, and project progress.
- Support digital acceleration in R&D through tools, data management, and lean ways of working.
- Engage in cross-cluster support where needed, offering agility and expertise across APAC.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Proven experience in formulation development, assessment, and packaging support in the FMCG industry.
- Proficiency with SAP PLM or equivalent product lifecycle management systems.
- Sound knowledge of lab safety, formulation processes, and product quality evaluation.
- Excellent attention to detail, record-keeping, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communicator in English (both written and verbal).
- Comfortable working both independently and within a multifunctional team.
- Enthusiasm for innovation, digital tools, and consumer-centric design.
