Job Description
The R&M Specialist role performs preventive & corrective maintenance, retrofit and upgrade to electronic, mechanic, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, data acquisition systems, downhole tools & communication equipment. The role performs these tasks using Company guidelines, technical work instructions, test procedures, schematics, engineering notices, and best practices to complete the scope of functions where required under the direction and supervision of a senior R&M Specialist, Lead Specialist or Supervisor. As the senior R&M Specialist, the employee will lead and oversee these tasks carried out by other R&M employees.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with company health and safety policies
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance for downhole tools and surface equipment
- Responding to breakdowns and repairs
- Diagnosing faults (trouble shooting) and completing necessary failure analysis documentation
- Repairing downhole tools and surface equipment
- Performing require modifications to downhole tools and surface equipment
- Providing technical support when necessary
- Obtaining specialist components, fixtures or fittings Managing lab supplies, inventory and equipment Maintaining repair and maintenance statistical records
- Perform full service, (disassembly, inspection, assembly, testing, and calibration when required) of LWD/ RSS/DD tools and sensors.
- Perform failure analysis and update analysis in the Reliability database.
- Perform Work Order Requests, Work Orders, PFTs, TERs, and read and file all tech alerts.
- Complete and collect required service records and documentation and stores electronic copies online and hard copies in files.
- Maintain all shop equipment and tools in good working order.
- Assists Technicians, LWD I and LWD IIin their roles when necessary.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry
- Diploma in Electrical / Electronics OR higher
- Basic Computer Skills
- Basic Mathematics
- Working with hazardous materials, radioactive elements & explosives.
- More senior roles require the ability to diagnose issues and problems with tools/equipment
- Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, monitoring of equipment
- Critical thinking, active learning & listening, complex problem solving
- Good reading and writing skills, strong judgement and decision-making to be in line with policies & procedures
- Time management
- Quality Control Analysis to ensure product meets required standards
- Capable to meet the physical demands that the role requires
- Information & task ordering & ability to identify when a problem may occur and where possible to understand solution
- Ability to react effectively and efficiently in operating tools and machinery
- Ability to imagine how tools and products will look when preparing for assembly, repair or modifications
Travel Requirement: This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to: <10%
