A global organisation is hiring a Regional Engineering Manager based in Bangkok, responsible for engineering leadership across South East Asia. This role oversees multiple sites and countries, driving engineering standards, project delivery, and continuous improvement to support business growth and innovation. You will work closely with cross-functional and multicultural teams, influence regional strategy, and promote best practices in technology and processes.
What you'll do:
- Lead and develop factory engineering teams across South East Asia, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and capability building.
- Define and drive regional engineering strategy aligned with business goals and continuous improvement.
- Oversee delivery of complex regional engineering projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, quality, and safety standards are met.
- Partner with R&D, planning, and global engineering networks to integrate new technologies and processes.
- Support sites with long-term master planning, technology selection, and process or equipment design decisions.
- Provide expert input during early project phases (Concept & Front-End Engineering Design), particularly for new or higher-risk technologies.
- Improve capital efficiency through technology deployment, vendor qualification, and asset productivity improvements.
- Collaborate with category teams to deliver cost savings and quality improvements.
- Act as the regional focal point for global engineering matters, including standards, technology transfer, and critical interventions.
- Lead early definition of strategic initiatives such as acquisitions or new plant start-ups until project teams are in place.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Master's degree in related field.
- Minimum 10 years experience in operational management or project engineering within FMCG or similar industries.
- At least 5 years leadership experience, with a proven ability to develop teams.
- Strong track record delivering large-scale engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Fluent English with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Solid understanding of processing and packaging technologies and factory operations.
- Extensive experience in project and design management, including capital projects.
- Deep knowledge of relevant category technologies and core design principles.
- Strong awareness of food safety, hygiene, and engineering compliance standards.
- Willingness to travel across Asia as required.
