Our client is seeking a finance professional to take ownership of our Southeast Asia sales region, with a primary focus on managing their Thailand entity while supporting the wider regional team. This role will be based in Bangkok and will cover both local statutory compliance and regional financial planning & control. You will work closely with sales leaders across Southeast Asia, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance with local regulations, and the efficiency of reporting and budgeting processes.

Responsibilities:

Local Finance & Compliance

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and month-end closing.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tax filings (VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax, and social security) in line with Thai regulations.
  • Manage local banking activities, cash flow, and funding allocation.

Regional Budgeting & Reporting

  • Partner with country sales heads to prepare annual and quarterly budgets, forecasts, and rolling plans.
  • Monitor expense control processes across the region, including pre-approval checks, in-process reviews, and post-event variance analysis.
  • Deliver timely budget execution reports, highlight risks, and recommend corrective actions.

Process & System Enhancement

  • Keep up to date with changes in accounting and tax regulations in Thailand and other SEA markets, adjusting policies where necessary.
  • Lead and participate in finance system and process improvement projects (ERP, workflow tools, automation) to drive efficiency and data visibility.
  • Maintain financial records and support internal and external audits across the region.

Business Partnering & Commercial Support

  • Support commercial teams with financial reviews of contracts, payment terms, invoicing, and reconciliations to reduce credit risks.
  • Review and approve supplier payments, reimbursements, and expense claims, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in finance, with at least 2 years in Thailand covering accounting and tax compliance.
  • Solid knowledge of Thai accounting standards and tax requirements.
  • Ability to prepare reports and liaise effectively across cultures.
  • Skilled in financial analysis and reporting; exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Netsuite is advantageous.
