Our client is a well-established global Tier-1 automotive manufacturer supplying advanced vehicle components and systems to major OEMs. The organization operates a key manufacturing footprint in Thailand and plays a critical role within the global supply chain, supporting high-growth and technology-driven automotive programs.
Role Overview :
This role leads the end-to-end purchasing function for a strategic manufacturing operation in Thailand, with broader regional exposure. The position carries significant responsibility for procurement strategy, supplier management, cost optimization, and supply chain resilience within a complex global matrix organization.
You will act as a key business partner to senior leadership, driving procurement excellence while supporting business growth and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Define and execute purchasing strategies aligned with global procurement direction and business objectives.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to deliver sustainable cost savings and improve supply competitiveness.
- Oversee supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing performance management.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships while supporting localization and supplier development initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity and compliance with corporate policies.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to ensure material availability and cost effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing purchasing organization.
- Drive procurement process improvements and digital tool adoption (e.g., e-sourcing, P2P platforms).
- Apply data-driven decision making, total cost of ownership (TCO), and fact-based negotiation methodologies.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 15+ years of procurement experience, with 10+ years in senior leadership roles, ideally within automotive manufacturing or Tier-1 supplier environments.
- Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and complex supplier negotiations.
- Proven track record of delivering sustainable cost savings with measurable bottom-line impact.
- Experience working in a global / matrix organization with exposure to multi-site or regional operations.
- Solid understanding of procurement systems and digital tools (e.g., SAP).
- Strong analytical, leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Fluent in English and Thai ; additional Chinese language capability is an advantage.
- MCIPS or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
