  1. Serves patients by greeting them, answering routine questions, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
  2. Uses practice management software, patient portal and appointment reminder systems, mobile applications, and other forms of technology to manage scheduling, interact with patients and providers, and update files and patients records.
  3. Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and takes detailed messages as needed.
  4. Optimizes patients satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  5. Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying the provider of a patient's arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
  6. Minimizes patients stress by anticipating their anxieties, answering questions, and maintaining a calm and orderly environment in the reception area.
  7. Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  8. Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  9. Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.
  10. Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions.
  11. Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments.
  12. Recording patient vital signs and medical information.
  13. Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.
  14. Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
  15. Administering non-intravenous medications.
  16. Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
  17. Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses.
  18. Assessing, observing, and speaking to patients
  19. Recording details and symptoms of patient medical history and current health
  20. Preparing patients for exams and treatment
  21. Administering medications and treatments, and then monitoring patients for side effects and reactions
  22. Creating, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans with the medical team
  23. Performing IV treatments service
  24. Assisting in medical procedures as needed
  25. Operating and monitoring medical equipment
  26. Drawing blood, urine samples, and other body fluids for lab work
  27. Educating patients and family members on treatment and care plans, as well as answering their questions
  28. Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, scheduling equipment service and repairs, and overseeing the delivery of supplies.
  29. Prepares, processes, and archives memos, correspondence, travel vouchers, and other documents.
  30. Protects patients rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  31. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
