We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Analyst to join our team. The Research Analyst is responsible for planning, organising, coordinating and conducting research in accordance with the Board's directions and agreed terms and conditions established with clients. This role provides research support through the gathering, organisation and analysis of relevant data, and contribute to the preparation of high-quality research outputs. In addition to core research responsibilities, the Research Analyst serves as a primary point of contact for RIMA's Karyawan online magazine and for the Executive Director's Office (EDO) through research support and strategic and conceptualisation projects.
MORE ABOUT THE ROLE
A. Research & Project Management
- Plan, organise and conduct research activities for assigned projects in line with RIMA's research agenda and Board directions.
- Lead selected research projects (internal and external) under the close supervision of the Centre Manager/Senior Research Analyst, including planning timelines, coordinating tasks and ensuring deliverables are met.
- Conduct literature reviews and horizon scans to support the development of concept papers, research proposals and analytical frameworks.
- Design and/or administer data collection tools (e.g. surveys, interview guides, discussion guides) in collaboration with the project team.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection where required.
- Carryout qualitative analysis (e.g. thematic, narrative, case study analysis) and quantitative analysis (e.g. descriptive statistics, correlations) for assigned projects.
- Contribute to the drafting of research reports, case studies, briefs and presentations, including milestone updates and final deliverables.
- Liaise with external partners (e.g. volunteer research consultants, community partners, institutional stakeholders) for project-related matters, as assigned.
B. Karyawan (AMP × RIMA Online Publication) - Co-lead and Editor
- Act as co-lead for the management of Karyawan, RIMA's online publication, under the supervision of the Centre Manager.
- Support the conceptualisation of each issue, including proposed themes, angles and topics in consultation with the Centre Manager and Senior Research Analyst.
- Manage the internal database of writers and articles, including tracking submissions, publication status and archiving of past pieces.
- Serve as main point of contact (POC) for writers, including outreach, follow-up,deadlines and basic guidance on writing requirements.
- Coordinate the review and clearance of articles, including circulation to internal reviewers (e.g. Centre Manager, Senior Research Analyst, Board members) and consolidating suggested edits.
- Prepare final versions of articles and upload them for publication on the Karyawan online platform.
- Monitor the Karyawan website for potential issues (e.g. bugs, formatting errors, broken links) and flag them to the team and/or technical support for resolution.
- Lead and support other Karyawan-related projects, including future projects to increase engagement and archiving.
C. Events, Seminars, Forums & Capacity Building
- Assisting the organisation of RIMA and AMP events such as Community-in-Review, seminars, forums, roundtable discussions and focus group discussions.
- Supportevent-related tasks including guest list formulation, liaison with speakers and participants, management of RSVPs and logistics on event day.
- Prepare or contribute to event scripts, talking points, presentation decks and event reports as assigned.
- Support or co-facilitate in-house training and workshops for RIMA or AMP staff to promote knowledge sharing and enhance research competencies.
D. Executive Director's Office (EDO) Support
- Provide research and analytical support for the Executive Director's strategic engagement by conducting literature and policy scans and basic presentation of data.
- Prepare meeting notes, talking points, presentation decks and other materials to support discussions with key stakeholders.
- Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives, pilot projects and other special assignments undertaken by EDO.
- Respond to ad hoc requests and emerging priorities with flexibility, sound judgement and the ability to work under tight timelines.
E. General Administrative & Governance Support
- Ensure all research materials belonging to RIMA are backed up in the designated repository in a proper, secure and timely manner.
- Ensure all administrative submissions for assigned projects (e.g. ethics forms, contracts, invoices, progress reports) are completed accurately and stored appropriately.
- Assisting the preparation of annual and project-level workplans and budgets, including monitoring of expenditure for assigned projects.
- Contribute to maintaining good documentation, filing and version control ofproject-related materials.
