The Research International Unit (RIU) envisions empowering policymakers and stakeholders with innovative, rigorous, and contextually relevant Health Technology Assessment (HTA) insights at global, regional, and national levels. Their goal is to optimize equitable access to high-quality healthcare and enhance health outcomes efficiently.
The Research Assistant at the Research International Unit is responsible for providing technical support to research projects, coordinating grants, and managing team activities.
Responsibilities
Research studies
- Provide technical support for research studies. Responsibilities may include literature review, descriptive statistics analysis, generating graphs, drafting research reports and presentations, and/or proof-reading manuscripts.
- Coordinate data collection activities, which may include scheduling interviews and issuing official letters.
- Liaise with researchers for submission of ethical clearance for research studies.
- Develop and oversee communication plan for research projects, liaising with the communications team and researchers.
Grant management
- Coordinate research proposal development (including budget), under the supervision of researchers.
- Coordinate timely grant reporting, in adherence with funding agency requirements.
- Liaise with operations management and researchers to draft terms of reference for contractors, in adherence with HITAP procedures.
Project management
- Synthesise progress of research studies across RIU, proactively flagging issues with timelines, budget, or adherence to ethical clearance.
- Maintain tracker of RIU activities, timelines, and budget.
- Propose improvements to RIU operations, including project management, staff development, and recruitment processes.
Skills + experience
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- Prior experience of research and/or scientific publications desirable.
- Ability to conduct literature reviews, data collection, and analysis.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
