Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Research & Innovation Director to lead scientific research and innovation initiatives within the food and nutrition industry. This role will be responsible for driving long-term research strategies, identifying emerging technologies, and translating scientific discoveries into commercially successful products.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Product Development, Nutrition, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and external research partners to build a strong innovation pipeline and deliver consumer-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Research & Innovation
- Develop and execute long-term research and innovation strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Identify emerging scientific trends, technologies, and market opportunities.
- Lead research projects from concept through commercialization.
- Build strategic collaborations with universities, research institutes, and industry partners.
Scientific Research
- Lead research programs in food science, nutrition, functional ingredients, and health-focused innovation.
- Evaluate scientific evidence to support product development and innovation.
- Ensure research quality, scientific credibility, and regulatory compliance.
- Drive innovation through advanced scientific approaches and new technologies.
Consumer & Product Excellence
- Guide consumer and product evaluation programs to enhance product quality and user experience.
- Utilize consumer insights and scientific findings to support product optimization.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve product performance and market competitiveness.
Leadership
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary research teams.
- Manage research portfolios, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Present research strategies and scientific updates to senior leadership.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
Education
- Master's or Ph.D. in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Nutrition, or related disciplines.
- Ph.D. is preferred.
Experience
- 12+ years of experience in Food R&D, Nutrition, Health & Wellness, or related industries.
- Proven experience leading research and innovation programs.
- Strong understanding of food science, nutrition, ingredient technologies, and product innovation.
- Experience working with external research organizations and cross-functional teams.
