Accountant (Retail / Regulated Industry)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Senior / Chief Accountant, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and ensuring strong financial controls within a regulated retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
- Maintain and reconcile General Ledger accounts (bank, inventory, vendors)
- Perform inventory and vendor reconciliations with high accuracy
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial reports
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation
- Verify supplier documentation in line with company policies
- Collaborate with Store Managers, Inventory, HR/Payroll, AP/AR, and Compliance teams
Key Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and double-entry principles
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred
- Experience in retail or other regulated industries is an asset
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
