Responsibilities:
Pre-Construction Preparation
- Participate in the development and review of layout plans and full set of construction drawings to ensure feasibility and cost control.
- Review engineering budgets to ensure reasonableness and alignment with project objectives.
- Coordinate with BD teams in other countries to support commercial negotiations by providing technical and engineering input.
- Liaise with landlord or building owner on design review, approval and all necessary clearances prior to construction.
- Align and coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to ensure project readiness.
Construction Quality and Safety Management
- Supervise the full construction process of retail stores, including regular inspections of materials, components, equipment, construction techniques, and procedures to ensure quality standards are met.
- Conduct and document inspections of concealed works and ensure timely rectification of any quality issues.
- Enforce safety compliance to prevent on-site incidents.
- Analyze project costs and recommend cost-saving initiatives based on market trends and technical needs.
Project Checking, Acceptance and Settlement
- Lead pre-handover and joint inspections with stakeholders.
- Ensure timely rectification of defects and maintain high handover standards.
- Confirm project completion on-site, verify project quantities, and ensure timely submission and accurate review of final settlement documents to safeguard company interests.
Documentation Management
- Maintain complete and organized records of construction documents, drawings, reports, and inspection records for traceability.
Other Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance of store facilities and equipment; handle minor repairs in a timely manner to ensure smooth store operations.
- Analyze store repair data to continuously improve store fit-out standards and engineering design.
- Participate in the development and refinement of engineering quality management systems, processes, and standards.
- All other duties or projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in retail fit-out project management or supervision.
- Experience in design or architectural coordination is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of APAC construction regulations, supervision processes, and fit-out practices.
- Proficient in using supervision tools and techniques for managing quality, progress, and cost.
- Solid foundation in construction knowledge, including structural design, construction techniques, and material mechanics.
- Capable of accurately identifying quality issues and providing effective solutions.
- Skilled in design and construction software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp (SU), etc.
- Possesses a tenacious sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Effective communicator with strong coordination and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and strong ownership.
- Willing to travel between Malaysia and Singapore; must have own transport.
- Proficiency in Mandarin (working language) with good command of English or Malay.
