We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Merchandising Manager to lead merchandising strategy and execution for a leading fashion retail business.
The role will be responsible for developing the right product assortment, managing seasonal collections, optimizing inventory, and driving sales and profitability. The ideal candidate combines strong fashion and consumer insight with commercial judgment, analytical capability, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising Strategy
- Develop and execute seasonal merchandising strategies aligned with brand positioning, customer needs, and business objectives.
- Build commercially relevant product assortments based on customer insights, market trends, sales performance, and financial targets.
- Define category, product, pricing, and assortment strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
- Identify opportunities for new categories, product extensions, and commercial growth.
Product & Assortment Management
- Lead assortment planning from range development through launch.
- Partner with Buying, Design, Product Development, and Operations teams to ensure effective product execution.
- Review product performance and recommend range expansion, replenishment, markdown, or discontinuation.
- Ensure a balanced assortment across categories, price points, colors, sizes, and key commercial drivers.
Planning & Inventory Management
- Own sales forecasts, seasonal plans, OTB, inventory budgets, and merchandising targets.
- Monitor sell-through, stock levels, weeks of supply, margins, markdowns, and inventory productivity.
- Identify inventory risks and commercial opportunities and implement corrective actions.
- Optimize inventory allocation and replenishment to maximize sales while minimizing excess stock.
Commercial Performance
- Analyze weekly and monthly sales performance by category, product, channel, and store.
- Translate sales and market data into clear commercial actions.
- Drive full-price sales and improve gross margin through effective assortment and inventory management.
- Conduct post-season analysis and incorporate key learnings into future collections.
Market & Consumer Insights
- Monitor fashion, retail, competitor, and consumer trends.
- Conduct regular competitor and market analysis.
- Develop a strong understanding of the target customer and evolving shopping behavior.
- Translate market insights into relevant product and assortment opportunities.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Fashion, Business, Retail Management, or a related discipline.
- Fluent in both English and Thai
- 5–8+ years of experience in fashion, apparel, lifestyle, or retail merchandising, with previous managerial experience preferred.
- Strong commercial understanding of fashion retail and merchandising principles.
- Proven experience in assortment planning, forecasting, inventory management, and sales analysis.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and competitive positioning.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Buying, Design, Product Development, Retail, E-commerce, and Supply Chain teams.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with merchandising, planning, ERP, or BI systems is an advantage.
