Wood is currently recruiting for a Road Closure Coordinator to join our team for a large-scale challenging construction project. We are looking for individuals with expertise and experience who are ready to take on new challenges and assist us achieve excellence in schedule, safety, and quality.

Responsibilities

What makes you remarkable

Road Closure Management

  • Control, manage and summarize all contractor road closure requests
  • Submit each request individually to the Client via the online road closure system
  • Ensure an emergency route is available before any road is closed each day
  • Coordinate with the client Operations team to track daily approvals and print permits for subcontractors
  • Support and liaise with all relevant parties to maintain emergency access routes

Transport and Access Coordination

  • Summarize all contractor transport route requests
  • Coordinate with client Security, Project, and Wood Security to open temporary gates for material transport
  • Facilitate site visitor access routes in brownfield areas by coordinating between client and Wood teams

Subcontractor Request Oversight

  • Consolidate all subcontractor requests and submit them to client for approval
  • Follow up to ensure timely approvals and compliance with planned schedules
  • Monitor subcontractor adherence to heavy equipment parking protocols within the refinery

Equipment Shutdown Monitoring

  • Conduct daily surveys of generator and air compressor shutdowns during lunch breaks and end-of-day stoppages
  • Distribute survey reports to area owners, Wood, and other relevant stakeholders

Others

  • Plan and coordinate temporary road closures in accordance with local authority regulations and project requirements
  • Develop and implement Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) in collaboration with engineers and contractors
  • Liaise with relevant government agencies such as traffic police, municipalities, and utility providers
  • Notify the public and stakeholders in advance of planned road closures and traffic diversions
  • Ensure safety measures are in place, including signage, barriers, and lighting, in compliance with safety standards
  • Monitor and inspect road closure sites to ensure compliance and resolve any issues that arise
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to road closures for submission to authorities
  • Support the project team in minimizing traffic disruption and ensuring smooth project execution

Qualifications

  • Higher Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction coordination or traffic management
  • Knowledge of traffic laws and local government permitting processes
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing site conditions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or traffic simulation software is a plus

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Solid understanding of traffic management principles, road safety regulations, and local permitting processes
  • Experience in developing and implementing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) for construction or infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with road closure procedures, detour planning, and stakeholder communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or traffic simulation software is advantageous
  • Ability to coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and utility providers
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills for regulatory compliance
  • Experience conducting site inspections to ensure safety and compliance with closure plans
  • Knowledge of public communication strategies to inform affected communities and minimize disruption
