Job Description

Main purpose of the role:

  • Strategic direction: Drive strategic & tactical decisions for Ambient Global S&OP to deliver key functional objectives in alignment with TU strategic goals
  • Master planning: Maximize TU profit through ensuring availability of finished goods at lowest possible cost; manage supply and demand constraints considering operational, commercial, and financial trade-offs
  • Effective S&OP: Oversee smooth execution of S&OP process, ensuring strong collaboration across teams; set standard for planning rules and process (including systems and tools) and drive best practice sharing to continuously improve planning capabilities
  • People: Motivate, lead and challenge team members to reach / exceed targets and objectives. Improve and sustain employee engagement scores to be within the top quartile. Develop strong internal leadership pipeline and set positive working culture with teams across Thai Union

Key accountabilities:

Strategic direction

  • Propose and lead implementation of initiatives to achieve Global Ambient S&OP strategy
  • Provide input to overall supply chain strategy as appropriate
  • Propose, monitor, and manage Regional S&OP KPIs, target, and budget
  • Review and guide Plant Planning & Scheduling KPI and targets

Master planning

  • Ensure alignment of master planning strategy with overall Thai Union Group strategy
  • Create and own constrained supply plan, master plan (including capacity allocation, volume allocation by plant & dual-source contract manufacturing, shipment plan / EDD) on a monthly-freeze and medium-term basis
  • Oversee supply planning process, ensuring effective collaboration with Procurement, Plant Planning & Scheduling, and other relevant parties
  • Oversee supply and demand reconciliation process, building robust scenario analysis that consider impact on operations, financial outcomes, and customer expectations
  • Identify and manage exceptions to master plan, coordinating with relevant functions effectively
  • Manage internal communication on the risks and opportunities related to master plan
  • Collaborate with / provide support to plants to develop weekly & monthly production plans as necessary
  • Drive inventory and distribution planning in coordination with Logistic and Commercial teams to ensure sufficient inventory level and on-time, in-full delivery of semi-finished & finished goods
  • Drive production order allocation strategy, considering plants inventory level, production capacity and specialization
  • Assess and provide recommendation on single and dual-source contract manufacturing decision (i.e., make or buy)
  • Ensure the availability of centrally managed materials (e.g., fish, cans, oils) through effective material planning

Effective S&OP

  • Effectively lead S&OP cadence; ensure strong collaboration and alignment across Ambient Manufacturing, Ambient Commercial, Finance, plant Planning & Scheduling, and other relevant teams throughout the S&OP processes
  • Set standard planning rules across Ambient operations (e.g., planning lead time, freeze vs unfreeze planning period, inventory management policy, etc.)
  • Lead standardization of planning processes / practice and tools / systems
  • Review and discuss performance variance against KPI target with key stakeholders (e.g., Production, Planning & Scheduling, Logistics, etc.) and ensure corrective actions are taken in timely manner
  • Drive continuous improvement opportunities across planning process (including digital tools and planning methodologies)

People and leadership

  • Motivate, lead, and challenge team members to reach/ exceed business unit targets and objectives
  • Create culture to attract, develop and retain talent as well as drive employee satisfaction within the scope, in collaboration with HR
  • Drive to improve career development paths & performance mgmt. to enhance team motivation and retain quality talent
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development to enhance employee skills and competencies
  • Build longer term view / plan around people, prepare succession plans in different levels
  • Manage people budget for Regional S&OP team, in collaboration with HR

Job Requirements:

  • 10-15 years&apos experience in S&OP with at least of 5 years in production planning.
  • Thai speaking and proficient in English.
  • Able to work onsite in the plant at Samut Sakhon, Thailand.
  • Ability to lead and motivate global teams, build a diverse and trust-based leadership team, and develop talent
  • Strong proficiency in sales & operations planning, global supply chain management, business strategy, with the ability to identify and analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions and develop long-term strategic plans
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to team members, internal, and external stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster a culture of collaboration and effectively drive cross-functional collaboration
