About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Officer to join NISSAN MOTOR (THAILAND) CO., LTD. at our Bangsaothong facility in Samut Prakan. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of all employees across our manufacturing operations. As Safety Officer, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving our occupational health and safety programmes to maintain the highest standards of workplace safety. This role is fundamental to protecting our workforce and supporting our commitment to zero-accident operations.

Key responsibilities

1) Health and safety management

  • Monitor incidents of injury, illness, and other situations within an assigned NMAP TC area
  • Investigate environmental accidents and other health & public safety concerns and establish the countermeasure
  • Ensure the operations are followed company system, comply with occupational health & safety management system and safety rules/regulations.
  • Recommend appropriate protective equipment that workers should wear while carrying out tasks
  • Develop and maintain environmental measurement and monitoring programs, evaluate workplace environments to ensure compliance with EHS standards and regal requirements.

2) Safety Training management

  • Identify and develop relevant training programs for company employee and management
  • Organize and implement any training/activities related to risks and safety and ensure the training for all employees based on safety legal & other requirements
  • Enhance safety related knowledge of employees and contractors to ensure their understanding of safety risks in their work and enable them to properly manage the risks in their daily work

3) Safety document & report management

  • Create analytical & safety report to the government officer as legal requirement
  • Provide regular report on relevant health and safety activities to superior presenting in the committee meeting
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Valid certification as a Safety Officer or Health and Safety Professional (recognised by Thai authorities)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in occupational health and safety roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of Thai occupational health and safety legislation, including the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Act
  • Proficiency in incident investigation methodologies and hazard identification techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training programmes and safety awareness initiatives
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and safety management systems
  • Fluency in Thai and English (both written and spoken)
  • Physical capability to conduct regular workplace inspections and site visits
  • Preferred: Experience within the automotive manufacturing or automotive supply chain industry
