Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and provide recommendations to employers, ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations.
- Analyze workplace strengths and weaknesses, establishing standards to prevent hazards. Present these findings to management.
- Assess safety threats within the workplace, including electrical and mechanical systems throughout the premises. A thorough evaluation of all areas is required.
- Present safety-related plans and projects, outlining their potential impacts for employers.
- Inspect and assess workplace safety and risks across all operational areas.
- Mandate and conduct safety training.
- Participate in workplace environmental and safety assessments, including the review of all safety documentation.
- Develop and implement safety initiatives within the work unit to meet legal and company standards.
- Present and assess hazardous situations to facilitate immediate rectification and prevent future occurrences.
- Collect and compile safety statistics and information for employers, aiding in the development of more stable, accurate safety planning and the reduction of high-risk areas.
- Demonstrate creativity and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1-3 years
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in one of the following disciplines is required:
- Bachelor of Science (Occupational Health and Safety)
- Bachelor of Public Health (Occupational Health and Safety)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Safety Engineering)
- Alternatively, an equivalent qualification is acceptable.
- Flexible and willing to work shifts.
