Role and purpose:
Plan & Execute the Sales and Marketing to achieve volume and margin targets using market intelligence, technical tools and new market development for Styrenics business. Harmonize Sales and marketing activities with related teams (PM, Technical Service, RDC, SCM, QM, FA) to ensure Customer Satisfaction.
This role should be team-oriented and self-driven to understand market & application as well as customer need with accuracy to figure out Win-Win solution to achieve yearly sales target.
- New business development in Thailand market, both local and transplant business
- Establish short- and long-term market strategy in Thailand business
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of Styrenics polymer market trends, technical development, market activities and standard market intelligence to help define the marketability of products and report to supervisor identified trends that could affect targets
- Collect customer data/ information/ feedback/ expectation, prepare for presentation/ seminars workshops to promote the products and services
- Develop and regular update promotional materials for identified customers.
- Monitor, analyze, assess and communicate monthly sales data to supervisor and propose product/ service planning, revision of strategies, identify business opportunities, pinpoint problem areas and provide solutions.
- Plan, carry out sales activities to achieve sales targets by calling and visiting existing/prospective customers to understand and identify their needs to create a long-term customer supplier relationship.
- Further secure business opportunities by identifying customer needs in terms of product application, services requirements, identifying buying cycles, delivery schedules and pricing structure for specialized products within the appropriate business segment, including necessary information provided to other functions, e.g. credit control, logistic, customer services
- Implement the defined pricing policies and strategy agreed with product management team
- Keep updated raw materials price information.
- Deliver and persuade & negotiate price agreed range with PM to achieve volume & CM1 target
- Provide inputs to country head on pricing structure according to market intelligence on price trends, demand analysis, sales terms and conditions, customer profiles to ensure profitable margins
- Provide customer's financial information to credit management manager.
- Deliver company credit guideline to the customers and persuade the customers to reach agreement
- Monitor and prevent the bankruptcy risk and credit default of customers
What do you need to succeed:
Level of education & Experience in general:
- University degree in polymer or chemical background
- 10+ years of sales and marketing experience, preferrable in the Chemical Industry
- Business awareness and commercial performance
- Behavioral skills: English/Thai, ability to deal with multicultural environment.
Technical skills:
- Familiar with product line/applications and typical customer requirements
- Good knowledge and understanding in polymer and plastics processing
- Competence to understand constantly changing complex market environments
- Derive objective oriented conclusions
- Understand cross-functional / cross-regional framework within Styrolution to derive target optimal conclusions and recommendations
- Contracting strategy and negotiation
