Your role and responsibilities

As a Sales Manager within the Energy Industries business in Thailand, you will be responsible for applying strategic account management principles to secure high-value orders and consistently achieve individual booking targets. Operating within established organizational and functional frameworks, your primary objective will be to collaborate closely with the sales organization to identify, engage, and influence key stakeholders-including EPCs, asset owners, and developers-across large-scale onshore energy infrastructure projects.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation in Thailand.

You will bemainly accountablefor:

  • Lead Technical and Commercial Solution Development
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver tailored solutions across Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS), Power Management Systems (PMS), and Digital offerings, ensuring alignment with customer needs and ABB's strategic direction.

  • Drive Strategic Pursuits and Customer Engagement
    Establish and lead major sales pursuits, positioning ABB as a trusted advisor to clients in the onshore energy sector. Ensure a best-in-class customer experience through proactive engagement and solution-driven conversations.

  • Enhance Customer Satisfaction through Technical Excellence
    Champion the delivery of high-quality automation solutions with support from technical proposal and back-office teams, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and value-driven.

  • Secure Strategic Projects and Achieve Booking Targets
    Identify and execute winning strategies to capture key projects, consistently meeting or exceeding automation order booking goals.

  • Utilize Standardized Sales Tools and Processes
    Apply ABB's marketing and sales tools-including Salesforce, account planning frameworks, and opportunity management systems-while adhering to governance protocols and approval processes for large bids.

  • Manage Tendering and Commercial Negotiations
    Oversee tender costing, evaluate commercial terms and conditions, and actively participate in negotiations with customers and vendors to secure favorable outcomes and mitigate risk.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus, especially with a focus on strategy, operations, or industrial management.

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in the Energy Industries, with a minimum of 5 years in a front-end sales role focused on automation and control solutions.

  • Proven track record in delivering Automation Solutions, including Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS), Power Management Systems (PMS), SCADA, Telecommunication, and Digital Solutions tailored to onshore energy applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and apply innovative approaches to complex sales challenges, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs.

  • Proficiency in managing commercial aspects of large-scale bids, including costing, contract terms, and negotiations with customers and vendors.

  • Familiarity with standardized sales tools and processes (e.g., Salesforce, account planning), and adherence to governance and approval protocols.

  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills
    Excellent communication, listening, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
