Mecwin Technologies is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Manager/Head – Aerospace and Defence to lead Sales & Business Development for the Aerospace and Defence vertical.
The role will be responsible for developing new customers, building strategic accounts and converting customer requirements into sustainable business opportunities. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial capability with a sound understanding of engineering products and the Aerospace and Defence ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead sales and business development activities for the Aerospace and Defence vertical.
· Identify and develop new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, system integrators, defence organisations, research institutions and emerging technology companies.
· Promote Mecwin's portfolio of motors, actuators, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies and customised electromechanical solutions.
· Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation and opportunity development through technical-commercial discussions, negotiations and order closure.
· Develop strong relationships with customer engineering, procurement, programme management and leadership teams.
· Understand customer applications and work with internal engineering teams to develop appropriate technical and commercial solutions.
· Identify opportunities for product development, prototyping, qualification, production and long-term supply programmes.
· Build and manage strategic customer accounts and partnerships to support recurring and long-term business.
· Coordinate with Design, Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement and Programme Management teams to support effective project execution and customer satisfaction.
· Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline, CRM records, forecasts and periodic business reviews.
· Track market developments, customer programmes and emerging opportunities across the Aerospace and Defence sectors.
· Represent the company in customer meetings, industry events and business development forums.
Candidate Profile
Required Experience
· 12-15 years of experience in sales or business development within Aerospace, Defence, Drone/UAV, Robotics, Motion Control, Electromechanical Systems or related engineering sectors.
· Proven experience in developing new customers and converting complex technical opportunities into business.
· Strong understanding of engineering product sales, customer development programmes and long sales cycles.
· Ability to independently manage opportunities from prospecting through commercial closure.
· Strong commercial negotiation, communication and relationship-management skills.
Preferred Experience
· Established network within the Aerospace and Defence ecosystem.
· Experience selling motors, actuators, motion-control products, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies or customised electromechanical systems.
· Exposure to aerospace and defence product development, qualification and validation processes.
Technical Knowledge
The candidate should have a working understanding of one or more of the following areas:
· BLDC, PMSM, AC induction and other specialised motors
· Linear, flap and motorised actuators
· Aerospace and defence wiring harnesses and interconnect systems
· Motor controllers, power electronics and embedded systems
· Product development, qualification and validation processes
