The company serves hospitals, distributors, and large healthcare groups globally and is expanding its footprint across Southeast Asia.

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will drive commercial growth and market penetration of the company's sterile medical device portfolio across Southeast Asia. This role combines strategic market development, distributor management, key account expansion, and regulatory coordination to scale business in a highly competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the regional go-to-market strategy for sterile medical devices.
  • Identify new market opportunities, product gaps, and competitive dynamics across SEA countries.
  • Lead product introductions, tenders, pricing strategies, and channel optimization.
  • Build, onboard, and manage distributors in key markets (e.g., Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam).
  • Conduct regular business reviews, performance tracking, and pipeline management.
  • Provide commercial tools, training, and product guidance to partners.
  • Engage directly with hospitals, private healthcare groups, procurement bodies, and clinical decision-makers.
  • Drive conversion and adoption of sterile medical devices in operating rooms, ICUs, and other clinical units.
  • Support tender submissions and value-based selling.
  • Liaise with internal regulatory teams and local partners to ensure product registrations, certifications, and compliance.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure alignment with market entry plans.
  • Build accurate sales forecasts, territory plans, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Track KPIs, sales performance, growth metrics, and ROI of commercial initiatives.

Requirements

  • 58+ years of BD, sales, or commercial experience in medical devices, ideally sterile, single-use, surgical, infection control, or hospital-grade products.
  • Proven track record expanding business in Southeast Asia.
  • Experience working through distributors and hospital procurement.
  • Familiarity with tendering processes and regulatory pathways in SEA.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to build multi-country GTM strategies.
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate clinical value and drive product conversion in hospitals.
  • Strong analytical and forecasting capabilities.
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial, comfortable operating autonomously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
  • MBA or postgraduate studies are an advantage.
  • Fluency in English; additional SEA languages (Thai, Bahasa, Vietnamese, Malay) are a plu
