Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Development
- Own and exceed annual personal and team sales targets target achievement is a basic expectation, not a bonus.
- Actively develop new B2B accounts, including contractors, interior design firms, property developers, retailers and distributors.
- Manage the full sales cycle independently: prospecting, quotation, negotiation, closing and payment collection.
- Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline and submit accurate weekly and monthly sales reports without being chased.
- Monitor competitor activity, market pricing and product trends, and respond with concrete counter-measures.
- Ensure timely collection of receivables sales are only counted when the money is in.
2. Team Leadership & Accountability
- Recruit, train and manage the sales team set individual targets and hold every member accountable for results.
- Conduct weekly pipeline reviews underperformance must be identified and corrected immediately, not tolerated.
- Build repeatable sales processes the function must not depend on any single person, including yourself.
3. Procurement Support
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing lighting products that match market demand and margin requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, MOQ, lead time and payment terms with local and overseas suppliers to secure the best total cost.
- Coordinate order placement, shipment schedules and stock levels with operations to prevent both stock-outs and dead stock.
- Evaluate and qualify suppliers on an ongoing basis maintain a disciplined approved-supplier list.
- Align procurement plans with sales forecasts forecast errors caused by careless planning will be treated as a performance issue.
Requirements:
- Able to work on Saturday and Sunday.
- Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience, of which at least 3 years must be in the lighting, electrical or building materials industry.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience leading a sales team, with direct responsibility for team targets.
- A documented track record of meeting or exceeding annual sales targets for at least the last 3 consecutive years quantified evidence must be provided at interview.
- An established, verifiable client network among contractors, interior design firms, developers or distributors in Singapore.
- Practical experience dealing with overseas suppliers, including import procedures, shipping terms and supplier negotiation.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English fluency in Mandarin is strongly preferred for communicating with suppliers.
- Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel poor numeracy is disqualifying.
- A valid driving licence and willingness to travel for client and supplier visits as required.
