The programme
A global S/4HANA transformation with a major SAP SI delivering. What the programme is missing is a strong local voice — someone who understands how the Thai business actually costs its products and closes its books, and who can hold their own when the global template team and the SI say this is how it will work.
What you'll actually do
- Translate in both directions. Turn local finance and statutory reality into requirements the global template team can act on; turn global design decisions into something local stakeholders understand and can plan around
- Review and challenge the SI's work — designs, functional specs, test scenarios. Spot what won't survive contact with the Thai statutory rulebook and the plant's real cost structure before it goes into build
- Run fit-gap and process workshops with local finance, controlling, plant and cost accounting, tax and treasury teams
- Drive business readiness end to end: process documentation, master data cleansing and readiness (chart of accounts mapping, cost centres, activity types and rates, cost component structure, profit centres, costing variants), UAT ownership, cutover preparation including opening balance and open item migration, training and change communications
- Surface risks early, with evidence — and make sure they land with the right people
This is a business-side role. You will not be configuring the system, but you need to know enough to tell when an answer doesn't hold up.
What we're looking for
- 8+ years in SAP FI and CO with genuine manufacturing controlling depth, including hands-on S/4HANA exposure
- Experience on global template rollouts — you know how template programmes behave, where localisation fights happen, and how they get resolved
- Strong end-to-end record-to-report knowledge and real product costing experience — standard costing, variance analysis, material ledger and actual costing, margin analysis — plus a clear grasp of where FI/CO meets MM, PP and SD
- Working knowledge of Thai statutory and tax requirements — VAT, withholding tax, e-Tax invoice and local statutory reporting sitting alongside group reporting
- The confidence and credibility to challenge a global SI. Evidence-based, constructive, not combative — but you don't sign off on a design just because the SI presented it
- Business-level English; Thai strongly preferred for local stakeholder engagement
Bonus points for
- Previous experience on programmes where a comparable SI was delivering
- Familiarity with BOI privileges and their tax and reporting treatment, and with running local statutory alongside group ledgers
Working arrangement
Remote-first. Expect some onsite time in the Bangkok and Pattaya offices for key milestones.
