Role Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced SAP Specialist to join our client's IT division. As a core member of the enterprise applications team, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the SAP system environment to support dynamic automotive manufacturing operations. You will act as the crucial bridge between business process owners on the shop floor, the supply chain, and the technical development teams to ensure our ERP systems drive efficiency, accuracy, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Customize, configure, and support core SAP modules with a primary focus on Production Planning (PP), Materials Management (MM), and secondary support for Sales & Distribution (SD) or Financials (FICO).
- Analyze existing automotive manufacturing workflows and map them effectively into SAP standard processes.
- Serve as the Level 2/3 point of escalation for SAP-related incidents. Troubleshoot system errors, identify root causes, and implement permanent technical solutions.
- Play a pivotal role in system upgrades, rollouts, and the ongoing transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. Lead testing phases, including Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Partner directly with plant managers, supply chain planners, and financial controllers to gather system requirements and translate them into functional specifications for ABAP developers.
- Oversee the integration of SAP with third-party logistics (3PL) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) setups standard in the automotive supply chain.
- Develop comprehensive system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and deliver training sessions to end-users to ensure high system adoption rates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4–6 years of hands-on experience as an SAP Functional Consultant or SAP Specialist.
- Proven experience within the manufacturing industry.
- Full life-cycle SAP implementation experience is a strong advantage.
- Deep functional knowledge of SAP PP and MM modules.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
