Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages all physical security operations and safety activities, authorized by DATA ZONE Data Center Management on a day-to-day basis.
  • Managers are required to train and educate all Supervisors and Officers with the necessary skills, pertaining to their job.
  • Managers are responsible for maintaining and updating customer /vendor/ employee access authorizations for their specific campuses.
  • Authorized to respond and make necessary changes, in DATA ZONE's Database, to customer/vendor/employee access and removal authorization requests.
  • Understands, updates, and enforces all policies and procedures created by the Security Department.
  • Understands and properly utilizes all surveillance systems used by Security Operations.
  • Identify and evaluate threats, vulnerabilities and consequent risks to clients, personnel, information, products and assets.
  • Conduct periodically BCP activities and document these activities for audit purposes.
  • Conduct periodically fire drills for internal and external stakeholders and document these activities for audit purposes.
  • Conduct any other security and safety related activities as required.
  • Understands and properly utilizes Security's Access Control Systems.
  • Manages all Supervisors to be able to capture biometrics via applicable software.
  • Instructs and assists Supervisors conducting facility orientations for campus necessity.
  • Authorized to print access badges for all employees/customers/vendors.
  • Authorized access removals/authorizations for employees/customers/vendors
  • Must have ability to multi-task and manage all events and take control of all stressful situations
  • Manages, Updates, and Enforces Security Post Orders and Policies and Procedures as needed.
  • Checks Emails, Pass-downs, and Event logs and notifies Security of any pertinent issues.
  • Maintains/Updates DATA ZONE Portal of all events for all shifts.
  • Maintains/Updates all reports written by Security Operations.
  • Manages daily activities and procedures dealing with Shipping and Receiving.
  • Clearly / Effectively communicates with staff and customers
  • Conducts Security Academy training for new officers
  • Trains/Manages all officers to provide escorts/standbys for tours and work related events
  • Tracks Security Officer's timesheets ensures daily coverage, signs off on all timesheets for Security.
  • Takes immediate actions and controls actions of Officers during events, unless otherwise directed.
  • Receives information/instruction from Senior Staff and passes information onto Security Officers
  • Continually, conducts training and supervision for all Security Officers.
  • Ensures all shifts are given proper instruction and training for daily duties
  • Responsible for notifying Senior Staff of any unusual situations or events immediately.
  • Ensure full compliance with all local governmental regulations according to the Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment Act requirements.
  • Participate in and perform activities relating to Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment.

Computer Equipment and Software:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience as a protective security practitioner, a minimum of 5 years of which are at a senior level with strategic and managerial responsibilities. The incumbent will typically have a law enforcement, or intelligence background and a CPP certification or comparable education (or combination of these).
