Our Beca Seismic Restraint Team

Beca's Seismic Restraint team is an emerging yet leading provider of non-structural seismic engineering consulting services. We deliver a wide range of projects, from small-scale to very large, across various market sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, and government. Each project we undertake is unique, presenting constantly evolving challenges. We bring a holistic, can-do, and highly collaborative approach to non-structural seismic engineering on every project we work on.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform structural engineering design and provide appropriate design solutions, including checking, reviewing, and issuing design calculations, drawings, and related technical documents.
  • Prepare technical specifications, design criteria, and engineering instructions in accordance with project and code requirements.
  • Conduct detailed material selection, engineering calculations, and structural design for assigned projects.
  • Design and assess secondary structures with emphasis on seismic resilience and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated and constructible design solutions.
  • Support technical reviews and continuously improve design quality, safety, and efficiency.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 0-5 years of experience in Civil & Structural engineering design.
  • Professional Engineering license or eligibility to obtain professional certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis principles and experience with design software such as BIM360, Revit, and finite element analysis programs (e.g. ETABS, SAP2000, SpaceGass) will be an advantage.
  • Experience or knowledge in seismic design is highly desirable.
  • Good English communication and strong computer literacy.
  • Demonstrates high responsibility, ability to work under pressure, positive working attitude, and strong collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work closely with technical leaders from diverse disciplines and cultures.
