Summary
Responsible for financial accounting and reporting, tax operations, and banking transactions across Malaysian entities, ensuring deliverables are submitted on a timely manner and in compliance with the relevant policies and procedures. This position reports to the Tower Lead – GL in Malaysia, with a dotted reporting line to the Head of Finance in Thailand. This role will also be expected to provide insights and analytical support for key stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
A. Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records and prepare monthly management accounts, schedules, and journal entries
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
- Manage prepayments and accruals, including amortization and monitoring receivables/payables
- Support fixed assets accounting and controls, ensuring compliance with internal control frameworks and segregation of duties
B. Compliance
- Assist in statutory audits, including preparation of financial statements and coordination with external auditors.
- Review the adequacy of tax provisions and corporate income tax estimates.
- Ensure timely submission and payment of Corporate Income Tax (PND50 / PND51).
- Ensure timely submission and payment of monthly VAT.
- Ensure overall tax compliance with Thai Revenue Department regulations and liaise with relevant authorities.
- Assist in BOI-related tax compliance and reporting, where applicable.
C. Ad hoc
- Maintain good relationships with stakeholders, i.e., Cross-department collaboration, organize stand-up meetings to provide regular progress updates to the stakeholders.
- To involve and assist in duties assigned from time to time by the Management.
- To involve and assist in annual asset counts.
- To involve and assist in E-invoicing filing.
- Assist in process standardization and optimization for GL Tower across the Group
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or a Professional Qualification (CPA/ CPD).
- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant working experience.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred audit background.
- Proven experience in financial analysis or a related role.
- Able to adapt in MNC/ Crossed Border Management environment.
- Financial focus and experience, sensitive in numbers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint). Experience with Oracle NetSuite will be advantageous.
- Familiar with accounting standards (TFRS/ IFRS/US GAAP ).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Good organization, analytical skills and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Committed with a strong sense of responsibility and able to work within deadlines.
