East-West Seed is looking for a Senior Accountant, Inventory and Cost Accountant to oversee and manage the daily operations of the inventory accounting department. This includes ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements, as well as coordinating with external auditors. A key focus of this position is on inventory management, unit cost calculation, and inventory valuation and write-off, where you will be responsible for reconciling inventory balances and transactions between the accounting and warehouse management systems. You will also develop and implement accounting policies, prepare financial reports, and collaborate with various teams to maintain accurate financial data.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Calculate, maintain, and update weighted Average Actual Costs for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging materials
  • Analyze cost variances related to materials, production efficiency, labor, and manufacturing overhead
  • Monitor inventory transactions, stock movements, and production postings to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support monthly and annual inventory counts, including variance investigation and reporting
  • Reconcile inventory balances between the accounting system and the warehouse management system
  • Maintain cost data and cost structures within the ERP system
  • Review slow-moving and obsolete stocks and write-offs, and ensure proper accounting treatment
  • Support month-end inventory cost calculation
  • Provide actual costing analysis and reports to support management decision-making and operational improvements
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
  • Handle ad-hoc inventory and cost project-related tasks

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Cost Accounting within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost structures
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work well in a team
  • Experience with ERP systems and cost management processes (especially MS Dynamics 365; SAP is acceptable)
  • Good command of MS Office and Google Workspace
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Can-do attitude and able to work under pressure
  • Growth mindset, agile, and easily adaptable
  • High commitment
  • Good command of English/Thai
