Senior/Assistant Manager (AI Engineering), AI in Medicine Institute (Contract)

Join SingHealth Duke-NUS Artificial Intelligencein Medicine Institute (AIMI) as a Senior/Assistant Manager designing,developing, and implementing generative AI capabilities and LLM-based solutionsfor a secure healthcare AI platform. You will contribute to clinical, research,and enterprise AI initiatives across SingHealth and Duke-NUS, helping to createreusable, scalable, and trustworthy AI services, knowledge resources, andintegrations.

What You'll Do

You willdesign and develop LLM-based applications for clinical, research, andenterprise use cases, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), promptworkflows, AI agents, workflow automation, and reusable AI services, whileevaluating model quality, groundedness, hallucination risk, latency, and taskperformance. You'll build and maintain knowledge resources using clinicaldocuments, research literature, terminology datasets, and approved datasources, implementing document ingestion, metadata, embeddings, semanticretrieval, reranking, citations, source lineage, and knowledge relationships.

Workingprimarily in Python, you'll develop clean, production-ready software and buildREST APIs, data pipelines, integration layers, and user interfaces that supportAI configuration, testing, monitoring, and administration. You will implementresponsible AI, privacy, security, and governance controls including accesscontrols, audit trails, source attribution, prompt guardrails, outputvalidation, and usage monitoring.

You'll alsowork closely with clinicians, researchers, data stewards, product owners,architects, and governance teams to translate requirements into practicaltechnical solutions, contributing to engineering standards, documentation,internal knowledge sharing, and proof-of-concept evaluation.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor'sin Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, SoftwareEngineering, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, applied AI/ML, data engineering, or generative AI product development. Candidates with more relevant experience may be considered for a Senior Assistant Manager position.
• Strong Python proficiency and demonstrated experience building LLM applications, including RAG, embeddings, semantic search, prompt engineering, structured outputs, AI agents, or workflow orchestration.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or comparable frameworks, as well as Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, logging, and production support.
• Curious,practical, and self-driven individual with ability to communicate complextechnical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders,and committed to privacy, security, responsible AI, and patient safety.
